With the new year right around the corner, I wanted to share some of my fun resolutions for 2019. (These are not in any particular order) 🙂
All of this resolutions are things I’m currently doing right now and will hope to keep doing in the New Year because they make me a happier, better version of me. I hope everyone of you can seek your own resolutions that make you a happier, better version of yourselves!
I hope you all have a great New Year’s Eve! See you all in 2019!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Thankful is an understatement of how I feel this year. I feel incredibly blessed. 2018 has transformed me inside and out. This year I placed my needs and desires first. I needed and desired more of God. Of his unconditional love. Of his strength. Of his faith in me. By placing him first, I trusted that his plans for my life where better than any I had for myself. That included letting go of people, things, and feelings that weren’t good for me. Throughout this year I felt his hand working for me and not against me. He placed amazing people, better things, and greater feelings into my life. People who genuinely care for me. Things that help me in better ways than I imagined. Feelings of faith, hope and love. I’m so thankful. No, I’m incredibly blessed. Blessed because He loves me. In order for better things to come into our lives we have to entrust to him all of our problems and sorrows. He truly does bless us with more than we can begin to imagine.
I hope everyone spends today with their loved ones and take a moment to remember all the things they’re thankful for!
I wanted to dedicate this post to each and every one of you who has taken the time to read, comment, like, or even view my blog site. I just want to say a big thank you! It’s been a year since I decided to blog. A whole year! Where did the time go, honestly!
I first opened my wordpress in 2016. That’s right, 2 years ago. It took me a whole year later to decide to publish my first post. I was afraid of saying the wrong things or wondering if I was saying the right things. All I knew was my passion for writing.
As a kid I’ve always had a great imagination, and a big love of books. In high school I took a creative writing class which made me realized how much I enjoyed writing. I even joined my school’s Literary Club and submitted several of my poems and a couple of short stories for their annual literary magazine. In college I took several literature courses and I found out I enjoyed the English Romanticism era. My favorite poet is Wordsworth by the way. 🙂
Ever since I started my blog, I believe it’s shaped me into a better person. I have meet some incredible bloggers along the way, and I can’t imagine where I would be without this amazing support system. Thankful to God, my loved ones and my friends as well for their support.
This second year I want to focus more on engaging with my followers and those amazing bloggers I’ve met and will come to meet! I’m excited for what’s to come!
1302 views! Every single view means so much to me.
Happy Halloween everyone!
I don’t normally do OOTD posts, but I figured I’d roll with it and do something totally fun. 🙂
If you don’t already know, I love all things French! I love the French culture from its food, French films, music and all things in between!
I originally had a different Halloween DIY costume in mind but my terrible planning skills didn’t allow me much time. However, I went with my plan b: the French person. 🙂
My outfit look:
Jeans: J. Crew
Leather Jacket: Marshalls; this is vegan material 🙂
Striped long sleeve: Target
Ankle boots: Aldo
Scarf: Thrifting, not sure where it is from. It had no brand tag, sorry!
The only new piece I bought for my look was my beret! Everything was something I already owned. 🙂
I hope everyone has a safe Halloween! Au Revoir!

Do you ever feel like you just need a quick mountain trip and take in all of Nature? We all do sometimes. My boyfriend, my brother and I woke up at the crack of dawn and headed to the mountains. I’m thankful to live in a state where we’re 2 to 3 hours away from them!
My plan was initially to head to Rough Ridge for a quick photoshoot but we ended up in Pisgah National Forest. All due to miscommunication. LOL. Sometimes, we just gotta laugh at these things. Driving through Pisgah, we saw a sign for Looking Glass Falls and decided to pull over for a quick stop. The falls were incredibly beautiful and several people were amongst us taking photos as well. Afterwards we were on our way to “said Rough Ridge” before we realized we were still an hour and a half away from it and it was lunch time already. Quickly ditching that plan, we made our way to our other planned destination: Asheville.
Before we headed to downtown Asheville, we stopped by Rocky’s Hot Chicken Shack for lunch. We had read previous reviews on this local restaurant and we were in for the best fried chicken of our lives! You can order your chicken to be seasoned anywhere from mild to XX hot! My boyfriend ordered the hot seasoned fried chicken, on the other hand I ordered mine plain to be on the safe side. Haha. 🙂 Meanwhile, my brother had ordered a chicken wrap. With our bellies full and satisfied, we headed back down the street to a cute pumpkin stand we had seen on our way to Rocky’s.
The pumpkin stand had all different colored pumpkins, but this year my favorite happened to be the white ones! I grabbed the cutest, tiniest pumpkin I could find, meanwhile my brother grabbed a small orange one. The most interesting thing happened to me after we finished paying and were on our way to the car. One of the elder ladies chased after me because she overheard me talking to my brother about something French-related. She told me she was from Paris and we even had a small conversation in French! I never would have imagined that I would meet a French person in the small mountain town of Asheville! Beaming from ear to ear, I got in the car and we headed to downtown.
Once there, I had two places in mind to check out for dessert bites and coffee. The first one was the French Broad Chocolate Lounge, but there was a tremendous wait line just to get in. So we went ahead to our next spot: the Double D’s Coffee Bus. A coffee bus you say? Yes! It was the coolest spot I found while researching on Pinterest. It’s a double decker AND they happen to sell coffee inside! 🙂 Once again, I was beaming from ear to ear because I also love London so much! There happened to be little to no lines and is located in a little square with outside seating and upstairs seating inside the bus too. 🙂 Please go check it out because it’s the coolest place ever!!
To end our trip we quickly perused the Mast General store and and outside market because I love a small remind of every trip I get to take. And just like that our trip came to an end and we made our way back home. I hope this has persuaded you to make a visit to the beautiful mountain town of Asheville and make a drive through mountains for amazing scenic views and for water falls!
