This is my third year going to Charlotte Restaurant Week. The first year I made reservations to the chain restaurant Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse and last year I went to Charlotte’s #1 rooftop restaurant Fahrenheit. This year I opted yet again for another steakhouse. After researching the entire Restaurant week list, I opted for Del Frisco’s largely because their dessert menu had chocolate mousse. Why you say? My brother is a huge chocolate lover.
Del Frisco’s has a relaxing atmosphere with amazing low lighting. Entering the lobby, there’s a bar and a staircase leading up to the second floor seating area. We ended up seating on the ground floor. The bread topped with their smooth butter made for a great starter. For the appetizers, my boyfriend got the Caesar salad, I got the spring mix salad and my brother got the Lobster Bisque, which is just a fancy word for a creamy soup made with shellfish. 🙂 As we moved on to our Entrees, my boyfriend had the Filet Duo, which by far the most eye-catching plate out of plates. It was composed of two small 4 oz. filets topped with Béarnaise and mushroom sauce and a side of Chateau potatoes. Which by the way I forgot to snap a photo of! Ugh! My plate and my brother’s on the other hand were a more basic looking version compared to my boyfriend’s. We both got the 8 oz Filet Mignon with a side of Chateau potatoes. Our server Sacha was great and asked us if we both wanted our filet’s topped with mushroom sauce which added just the right flavor.
Last but not least, I chose to get a complimentary cappuccino because after eating so much good food I was really in need of a quick pick me up. My boyfriend and I individually ordered the cheesecake with strawberry sauce while my brother opted for the Belgian Chocolate Mousse. Their cheesecake was by far my most to date, and I’ve had quite a few in the past. I fell in love with the smooth and melt in your mouth sensation. CAN I SAY WOW! Overall, our experience was just as great as ever and believe it or not it was just a total of $35 each not including tip of course! It’s not often I go dine in the finest restaurants in Charlotte, but I couldn’t miss the bi-annual Charlotte Restaurant Week! So if you missed January, the next one is in July! 🙂
