Locations: Tybee Island and Savannah, Georgia
As Summer comes to an end, I finally decided to write about this short but sweet trip I took to Tybee Island and Savannah with my love and our good friends back in June.
Day 1: We were very fortunate for our Airbnb host to allow us to check in extremely early the morning we arrived to Tybee Island . Upon arriving, we all napped for a couple hours before heading across the street to eat lunch at the famous Crab Shack which had real alligators (Bottom row middle). They had really great seafood and is worth a trip! Afterwards, we headed to the Tybee Island Lighthouse for amazing views of the island and ocean (Bottom row left). To be honest, the stairs were killer and we stopped several times on the way up! Afterwards, the guys got us Pineapple slushes before heading off to the beach for an afternoon swim (Middle row right). We ended our night with pizza and movies. 🙂
Day 2: We slept in and headed out to downtown Savannah for the day which was just a quick half an hour drive away. For lunch, we headed over to the famous Paula Deen restaurant “The Lady and Sons” and we all tried their buffet (Middle row left). My absolute favorite things were the fried chicken, lemonade, and mashed potatoes! Afterwards, we made our way to the Paris Market Cafe. Anyone that knows me, knows how much I love French things! I walked out of there with an iced coffee and some French-made soap, two of my guilty pleasures (Top row middle). 🙂 The guys made us stop along the way to a bar and check who was winning that day’s World Cup game. The rest of the afternoon was spent walking through the beautiful historical streets and listening to the live music playing near the fountain courtyard. We finished off our evening with drinks and board games we found at our Airbnb home.
Day 3: This was our last day of our trip, and were up early cleaning the Airbnb home. With time to spare, me and my love headed to the beach for one last quick swim (Top row left). We got the greatest, yet scary, surprise of our lives and saw a dolphin swimming nearby! Before hitting the road, we stopped in Savannah for brunch at J Christopher’s. They had the best roasted potatoes and gravy biscuit! One thing I loved so much about Savannah were all the Spanish moss trees around us (Top row right). And just like that our trip was over and we headed off on our 4 hour drive back home (Bottom row right).
Sometimes, I think about how long a road trip is but it always goes by quicker with good friends and that special someone (Middle row center). Tybee Island and Savannah you were very good to us. See ya next time on island time!
